Madam Marina, 31 years old, is a devoted mother to 5 children between the ages of 2 -10 years old. They currently stay in a cramped two room rental flat. She is unable to work as she suffers from Major Depressive Disorder and her youngest child is only 2 years old. Her husband, Mr Azim, is currently the sole breadwinner and works as a bellman in a hotel. His pay is insufficient to provide for the large family and they struggle financially.
Their 6-year-old son suffers from ADHD and although he is currently on medication, there are days where Madam Marina and her husband struggles with their son. To make matters worse, their 4-year-old daughter is also suspected of having ADHD, however, due to her age, the doctors are unable to diagnose her just yet. Without a diagnosis and without medication, the couple struggles with their daughter as she requires constant supervision. As such, the family struggles with two children with ADHD and with limited support from family members, they are left on their own and at their wits end.
Madam Marina is unable to work due to suffering from Major Depressive Disorder and having to care for two children with ADHD. She wishes to work however, with limited family support, she is unable to leave them alone at home. The family struggles financially and have very limited source of support.
ROHI would therefore like to raise S$250 per month for 4 months for the family’s living expenses so that they are able to tide over this difficult period.
